Interview with Mismatchedosockgirl :)

The Rules of the Interview:
1. Leave me a comment saying you want to be interviewed.
2. I’ll email you five questions, of my determination not yours!
3. You update your blog with the answers to the questions.
4. You offer to interview someone else in the same post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.

1.) What’s the most overused word and/or phrase in your vocabulary.

I have many. No I really do. Just ask Maribeth. I say epic, intense, groovy, and for cereal a lot. Probably epic the most though. I’m trying to stop… ๐Ÿ˜›

2. )ย  If there were only one beverage on the face of the earth, you would desperately hope that it’s…

Ohhh, that’s tough. I think I’d have to go with water. It’s not my favorite, but it is essential so…

3.) You just discovered a working time machine in your backyard! Where are you going to go, what will you find and will you change anything?

Wow! There are so many things I would love to do! I think I would love to visit all of my favorite authors that are now deceased. I’m sure there are many other things I would do, but that is definitely one of them. So I would go visit Jane Austen, and C.S. Lewis, and I would see what life was really like in the past and experience everything first hand. I don’t know if I would change anything, in all honesty.

4.) Bad habits: what’s your most prominent (or most problematic) one?

Hmm, I think I tend to judge people. A lot. Which is something I’m trying to work on improving. And also stressing. I unfortunately do that a lot as well…

5.) If you were limited to only four senses, which sense (taste, smell touch hearing, sight) would you be willing to give up?
I think I would give up taste. That’s a hard question. ๐Ÿ˜›

Thanks Mismatchedsockgirl! Those were great questions!

And if anyone else wants to do this just let me know ๐Ÿ˜€

She took the suitcase-

the dark blue one

from its place on the bottom.

Loud voices. Tears. Crash.

Five minutes later she was gone.

Where her clothes would hang

and fall

on the floor of the closet

are shadows

that whisper her name,

sounding out notes

that remind me.

Transparent contours

light and airy

are a fleeting memory.

I shut it out.

Close my eyes.

Small gasping breaths.

In out, in out.

Only my ears remain.

Listening, hearing.

Block it out.

CD’s, and useless chatter fill the air…

I run until I too am gone.

Just for the record this poem is not at all applicable to my home life. I actually just started writing a random poem based upon the list I found at Maya’s wordpress blog and it became a poem that I kind of like. So there you have it ๐Ÿ˜€

Hi Ho, Hi Ho, It’s off to School we go….

Disney is great. I can make a song from basically any of their songs. Got to love it ๐Ÿ˜€

Anyways, this is really just a post to say that I’m getting my license tomorrow (hopefully)! ๐Ÿ˜€

And also to say that if school doesn’t kill me by Thursday (end of semester) I promise to write a real and amazing post. How real and how amazing? No clue. Sigh.

So there you have it.

Oh and if it crosses your mind to send a prayer or two my way I would appreciate it! ๐Ÿ˜€

Learning to Breathe– Switchfoot

Hello, good morning, how you do?
What makes your rising sun so new?
I could use a fresh beginning too
All of my regrets are nothing new
So this is the way that I say I need You
This is the way that I’m

Learning to breathe
I’m learning to crawl
I’m finding that You and You alone can break my fall
I’m living again, awake and alive
I’m dying to breathe in these abundant skies

Hello, good morning, how you been?
Yesterday left my head kicked in
I never, never thought that
I would fall like that
Never knew that I could hurt this bad

So this is the way I say I need You
This is the way that I say I love You
This is the way that I say I’m Yours
This is the way, this is the way

So anyways…

Yeah. I don’t know what’s up with that poem below, so I’m just going to publish and forget about it ๐Ÿ˜›

I do have a little bit of interesting news…

Today I went to my state university on a field trip and it was lovely. I don’t know if I want to go there or not, but I definitely enjoyed seeing it from a more academic perspective. I have of course been there before for things such as piano competitions, but it was fun to be able to see the more studious side and enjoy the student culture of the fieldtrip. I also talked with my friend Faiza for a colossal (just felt like using that word…) amount of time which was pretty fun. We talked about college a lot. Faiza is kind of obsessed with college. She’s also a wee bit insane, and knows it. But we all love her anyways ๐Ÿ˜‰

Wow, I am so rambly. I told you I was prone to going off on tangents…

Tangents is a bad word. It reminds me of math.

Oh and if you happen to know what University I was at today then gmail chat me about it or something please because I really dislike having to go in and edit people’s comments. It’s just tiresome.

What was I going to talk about with this post anyways?

I think the better question is why I’m still writing it…

I don’t think it was supposed to be a life update, which is what it’s turning out to be. If it were a life update I would tell you about how stressed yearbook makes me and how I havea geometry test tomorrow that I’m not looking forward to. I might also tell you that I had a biology test which was a piece of cake.ย  Or I could mention how I’m really excited for what culture club is doing lately. I think our hiatus was well worth it and I’m looking forward to planning on next few events, etc. I could also say how I have awesome new piano music that I’m working on for the next competition…

Uhhhh… I think that was kind of a life update.

Well originally this was supposed to be an update on writing. I wrote a chapter I’m actually really proud of. (Confession time, I actually haven’t read more of what I wrote of my novel during NaNoWriMo. Yeah…. I wrote it, but didn’t read it… ) and for the first time now I’m actually reading what I wrote. This is weird for me. Some of it makes me go, oh my gosh did I actually write this?! And some of it makes me cringe. Really cringe. As Maribeth and Jess can personally testify.

Actually, because I’m cool like that, here’s a little excerpt:

It was a boy. A small, beautiful child. His dark hair fell in lustrous curls around his plump perfect cheeks. His skin was pale, almost as though he had been carved of white stone. Linden watched as he moved to play with other little children that were slowly coming into focus. They were all dressed in a comfortable looking style, the fabric woven for both duty and durability, and varying in colors from deep greens to browns. Some of the children wore shades ofย  red. They were beside a river playing a game that involved tossing stones and placing sticks into patterns that Linden couldnโ€™t quite see.

I have no idea why I gave you that excerpt, but there you go ๐Ÿ˜›

All right… This was so rambly. I’m done now.

Hasta luego, dude ๐Ÿ˜€

(see ya later dude)

What do you write when you have nothing to write about?

When the words simply can’t flow–

and when you think that there is something

that you want to say

but simply don’t know what it is.

And you wonder exactly

what that thing was.

It plagues you.

You ponder nothing.

And finally you surrender

and write about nothing.
